Lobbie is built to be private. There is no account, no advertising, no tracking, and no analytics. This policy explains the little that happens with your data.
What Lobbie stores
The people you add, their dates, groups, notes, gift ideas, and your reminder settings are stored on your device. If iCloud sync is on, they also sync through your own private iCloud (Apple CloudKit), which only you can see. Cards you prepare, and your history of sent cards, are kept as files on your device and do not sync. Lobbie has no server of its own, and your reminders are scheduled and shown entirely on your device.
AI features and third-party processing
When you use an AI feature, and only then, a little data leaves your device. All of it passes through a single Cloudflare Worker run by the developer, which relays it to the services below and keeps no account of yours. To draw an AI card, Lobbie sends a short text prompt - the recipient first name or nickname, their age if known, the occasion, the tone, and about 160 characters of your written greeting for mood - to Google Gemini (the gemini-2.5-flash-image model, also known as Nano Banana). If the Worker cannot reach Gemini, a key-less fallback image service (Pollinations, running FLUX) may be used only as a last resort.
The same Worker handles the other AI features. To write a message with AI, Lobbie sends the recipient first name, age, occasion, tone, the name of their circle (such as Family), and the target language to Google Gemini's text model; the translate-back check, which shows a wish in your own language, sends the full message text. If gift-idea suggestions are ever turned on (they are off today), they would also send your free-text notes about the person. To find a GIF, your search words and language go to GIPHY. Every request also carries your device IP, as any internet request does. None of these features send your photos, phone numbers, emails, contacts, or any account identifier, and nothing is sent unless you actively use one of them. The only outside parties involved are Cloudflare (the Worker), Google Gemini, and GIPHY.
Contacts, Calendar, Photos, and Camera
If you import people, Lobbie reads Contacts or Calendar only with your permission, and the data stays on your device or your private iCloud. To add a photo to a card, you can choose one from your library or take a new one with the camera, with your permission; either way the photo stays on your device. Lobbie asks for no location or microphone access.
Your choices
You can turn iCloud sync off to stay fully on-device, delete any person or card at any time, and export your people to a CSV file. Because there is no account and no server of ours, there is nothing for us to hold on your behalf.
